JEAN PHILIPPE VELGHE-MICHAUX COMES FROM A LONG FAMILY LINEAGE OF ARCHITECTS. AS STUDENT OF THE ECOLE NATIONALE DES BEAUX-ARTS DE PARIS, HE OBTAINED HIS DPLG ARCHITECTURE DEGREE IN 1977 WHEREBY LISTED ON THE ARCHITECS ORDER SINCE 1978.
HIS TASTE FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND THE SAVOY STYLE OF ARCHITECTURE ENCOURAGED HIM TO LEAVE PARIS AND LIVE YEAR ROUND IN COURCHEVEL.
WHILE SETTLING IN THIS AREA OF FRANCE, THE ARCHITECTURE COMMUNITY BANNED THE GABLE ROOF FOR A FLATTER STYLE, ALSO NAMED “BUTTERFLY ROOF”. JEAN-PHILIPPE WAS ENTERED THE REGION DURING AN EXCITING ERA OF ARCHITECTURE IN THE ALPS. DURING THIS TIME, A MOVEMENT FOR A MORE TRADITIONAL STYLE OF BUILDING WAS GROWING AND THE GABLE ROOF STARTED GAINING MOMENTUM. THIS ROOFING STRUCTURE ENABLED ARCHITECTURE TO INTEGRATE WITH THE ENVIRONMENT, WHILST NOT DISTURBING THE ALPINE LANDSCAPE – A STYLE THAT CONTINUES TO THRIVE TODAY.
FOR MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS, A DIVERSE CLIENTELE BASE GAVE JEAN-PHILIPPE TO WORK ON A MYRIAD OF PROJECTS RANGING FROM SKI RESORTS, LUXURY COTTAGES, HOTELS, PUBLIC BUILDING, PALACES AND SOCIAL RESIDENCES. IN ADDITION TO THE FRENCH ALPS, HIS WORK CAN BE SEEN IN PARIS, SAINT TROPEZ, CANNES AND IN SIBERIAN ON A DYNAMIC NEW SKI RESORT.
HIS DEEP EXPERIENCES NOURISH HIS CREATIVITY. SURROUNDED BY A YOUNG AND DYNAMIC TEAM, THE AGENCY PROPOSES THE MOST INNOVATIVE AND TECHNICALLY ADEQUATE DESIGNS TO SUIT ANY CUSTOMER’S NEEDS.
